Next up..Who ensures our meetings run smoothly?.. • Karliee Pope! • Hey guys! I’m Karliee Pope, I am Canton’s FFA parliamentarian. I am a sophomore, and my favorite song is What Kinda Man by Parker McCollum. 🌟 • I participate in yearbook, and I am also on the Canton High School Cheer Team. 📣 • One of my most valuable FFA experiences has been showing. It was the first thing I participated in FFA. Showing made me realize how much I loved being in ag, and it made me want to become more involved in the FFA. 🐄 • After high school, I plan to become a teacher. I’m not sure what field of education I want to go into yet. 👩‍🏫 • I’m looking forward to participating in all of the activities I can and being more involved in the FFA. I look forward to going to livestock judging contests, the State Fair Crops competition, and whatever else I can attend. 🎡 • Some advice I’d give to younger FFA members is, participate in whatever you can because even though it doesn’t sound fun, you always end up have a lot of fun. 💜

The Canton 4H & FFA show team had a couple of busy but rewarding days last week! Last Friday, 19 Canton FFA students competed in the Blaine County livestock judging competition. Hannah Hoffman was the top SR FFA Livestock Judger and Mackenzie Day was the top JR FFA livestock Judger. Then on Saturday the show team reeled in more buckles. Dallas Freeman had the Reserve Champion Barrow with his Chester, and he also had the Grand Champion Market Lamb with his Hamp lamb. Hannah Hoffman walked away with the Grand Champion Registered Ewe with her Hamp Ewe, Reserve Champion Registered Ewe with her Dorset Ewe, Reserve Champion Commercial Ewe with her Natural Ewe, and then she had the Reserver Supreme Ewe with her Hamp Ewe. Then Grace Pope won Reserve Champion Market Lamb with her Southdown lamb. Chase Dowell also had the Reserve Champion Market Steer. All the showmen represented Canton very proudly at the Blaine County Fair.

Our FCA Leadership Spotlight this week is Mackenzie Day! ✝️ Hi, I’m Mackenzie Day. I’ve been in FCA for 3 years, but this is my first year on the leadership team, and it’s been a powerful season of growth so far. I’ve deepened my faith, built stronger friendships, and had the chance to share the Lord’s love with others in a real and personal way. Seeing God work through our group has been incredible, and I’m excited for all the opportunities this year to keep pointing people to Him!

Canton Art Club has gotten off to a fun start. Students have enjoyed making baskets of their own design.

The FFA chapter will be having a tailgate fundraiser at the first home football game August 29th. They will be serving fish and Blue & Gold chicken. The proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards their National FFA Convention trip.

Our first FCA Leadership Spotlight is Emily McEachern! ✝️ Hi, my name is Emily McEachern and I am the captain of FCA! This is my 3rd year in FCA and my 2nd year being an officer. For me, FCA has been a way to connect with God and build a community of Christians around me. At my church, I love my youth group but it's nice to have a community of school members who are Christians and there for you always! I love FCA and it is like my second home! I'm so grateful God has given me an opportunity to have a community of believers around me at school and a way to learn and share more about him in an educational environment!
