Making a Difference (MAD) is coming soon!!

The Canton School District is proud to bring back its community service project for a second year, continuing a tradition of giving back and strengthening connections within the community. This year’s event will take place April 29 and will be expanded into an all-day service opportunity for students and staff.

Students, faculty, and volunteers will spend the day working on projects throughout Canton and the surrounding areas to help improve and beautify the community. Elementary students and staff will focus on projects closer to the school, while junior high and high school students will extend their efforts into the broader community.

In preparation for the event, letters will be sent to local businesses and organizations next week inviting them to partner with the district by submitting project ideas that would benefit the community. Canton Schools hopes to hear back from businesses and community members so students and staff can help make a meaningful impact.

Suggested projects may include activities such as trash cleanup, brush clearing, planting flowers, painting projects, and other community improvement efforts. While the labor will be provided by students and staff, any materials needed for the projects would be the responsibility of the requesting organization.

Local organizations interested in participating can contact the Canton School District at 580-886-2256 or by email at evansm@canton.k12.ok.us or fuquad@canton.k12.ok.us. Organizations may also request a project submission form if they did not receive one.

The Canton School District looks forward to working together with community partners to make a positive difference. This day of service not only helps beautify the community but also allows students to learn the value of giving back and supporting the place they call home.
